Highlanders Team

The team is: Colin Slade, Kade Poki, Tamati Ellison, Phil Burleigh, Hosea Gear, Lima Sopoaga, Aaron Smith, Nasi Manu, John Hardie, Adam Thomson, NickCrosswell, Josh Bekhuis, Chris King, Andrew Hore, Jamie Mackintosh (captain)
Reserves: Jason Rutledge, Bronson Murray, Culum Retallick, James Haskell, Jimmy Cowan, Kurt Baker, Buxton Popoali'i

not bad, i'm a little surprised to see Slade at fullback over Baker seeing as Full back it where Baker was being aimed to play and slade is just back from injury. Baker not 100% right yet either?

Glad to see Smith over cowen again, i'm hoping three of four games on the bench might **** Jimmy off enoug to come out firing when he does take the field

still no Noakes either, still hurt or not needed do we think?

Quite looking forward to this game actually, always like watching the Southern men play rugby. Don't care much for the Tah's, but they seem to be playing more exciting rugby with the inclusion of Sarel. This was the hardest one for me to pick in the virtual as I personally think the Tah's could win the Aussie conference, where as the Highlanders are undefeated and are looking pretty good.

Quick observations..

This really is a fantastic stadium, every city in NZ should have one. Winter night games would all be entertaining rather than pretty much all wet weather slippery ball games.

Aaron Smith is the goods, not sure Cowan will wear 9 at all this season if he can keep it up.

Lawrence is the biggest w4nker of a ref there is. He is in love with his whistle.

AH!
My favourite official at his pedantic best!

I was pilloried some time back for criticising Lawrence. It would seem he has a number of fans on this forum.

13 penalties in the first half, half of them didn't need to be given. Such a plonker.

Jimmy Cowan has a collossal brain lapse on full time... that's why you're riding the pine pony buddy.

Good win for the Highlanders, it could have gone either way.

Bryce Lawrence is still a muppet.

Well done Highlanders, however this result now means I'm 1/4 this round :(. So many games could of gone either way, and I keep picking the team on the losing side of that.

Surely if you're confusing players it would be Waugh and George Smith, seeing as all the way through his career Waugh just wanted to be Smith... ;)

All I know is that they are both ugly mugs, both played for the Waratahs recently and haven't seen either recently.
