It look like Stephen Hoiles Super season is over according to the Sydney Morning Herald/Canberra times ... hard luck for him as he probably needs the game time to press for World Cup selection http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/stephen-hoiles-out-for-rest-of-season-20110512-1ejvb.html Stephen Hoiles out for rest of season Chris Dutton May 12, 2011 - 12:03PM Stephen Hoiles has played just once for the Brumbies this season. Hoiles will not start running again for at least the next month as he continues to battle his Achilles tendon problem. His slow recovery process means he has no chance of taking part in any of the Brumbies' remaining six games. Instead, Hoiles said he was targeting a return to action in Sydney club rugby later this year. "It's starting to improve a fair bit in terms of day-to-day walking around and my rehab stuff, but I'm not running for at least another four to six weeks so I'll run out of time to play Super Rugby," Hoiles said. "Even after that it will be about another six weeks until I play club footy, so I'm hoping to get back for that if I can. "It's been a nightmare year, unfortunately the injury has taken longer than we expected." Hoiles played in the Brumbies' round one win over the Waikato Chiefs in February, but has not been able to get back on the field since. It was originally hoped off-season surgery would allow him to play pain free this year. He pushed himself to be fit for the opening game of the season and managed 20 minutes against the Chiefs. But his early return thwarted his hopes of being heavily involved on the field. "It's frustrating that we haven't been able to identify it until probably now," Hoiles said. "All the time I was running and playing. "Playing in round one developed it into a different injury, now it's a tendonitis issue so trying to play early this year proved costly." Rocky Elsom has also experienced a slow recovery from his hamstring tendon injury. Elsom is expected to return before the end of the season, but he will not play against the Johannesburg Lions at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night. The Brumbies will name their team for the clash with the Lions today. In one of the only changes, speedster Henry Speight will likely return from injury to take a place on the bench.
