Space

Aye, seen these on Aberdeen-mad once.

Got to say the pictures at 'night-time' are by far the best for me, especially the one over Europe= Magic

Nasa have been publishing a picture every day for the last fourteen years. Some are a bit average but every now and then you get an absolute gem.

Here's the link:

Oh here's my favourite picture of space. I think it was taken by one of the Galelio probes but I can't remember my astro lectures.

Edit: If you can see that dot on the outmost ring thingy, that's Earth.

Now that looks animated/photoshopped

Didn't realise that that much sunlight got to Saturn, to make such an 'impression' (for lack of a better word)

It's a planetary eclipse. I know, it looks so fake, but it ain't.

Edit: It was taken by Cassini.

OK, I like the photos of outer space and I decided to replace my current desktop image - riot police at night outside Westminster. But the links from this thread are low resolution.

So I went googling and came up with this:

public_domain_astronomy_10.jpg

Looks a bit Jackson Pollock. But when it converted to full screen, I could see three demonic faces.

Anyone else see them, or am I mad?

The photo doesn't enlarge to full screen, so click this site, scroll down 40% to the first nebula photo, and right click to make it your desktop image:

Do you see the faces? Am I a victim of photoshop terror?

p.s. Feicarsinn, just saw your post - thanks.
