Sharks flank Jean Deysel will face a SANZAR Judicial Hearing in Durban on Monday 30 May, 2011.

Deysel was cited under Foul Play Law 10.4 (e) for dangerous tackling of an opponent without the ball; and Law 10.4 (m) for an act contrary to good sportsmanship.

Deysel received a yellow card after using a dangerous headlock to clear Waratahs centre Tom Carter at a ruck in the 51st minute of the match.

I guess we will have tons of knock ons again next week with Hoffmann and Deysel out (and because of that the knock on kings Alberts and McLeod in)

So much for the playoffs then.
Alberts does bugger all, knocks on, and then makes a decent hit any everyone goes on about him.
Deysel is a much more skilled flanker. Typical PdV to ignore him.

All aboard the anit-P Divvie express!

How is it typical that PdV ignored Deysel over Alberts? At the EOYT, Deysel was injured, Alberts was not
Before that SA had fully fit Smith, Burger and Brussouw- I'd be interested to know if you think there was space for him in that bunch

Yes, he was injured. I am referring to the current 51-man planning squad.
Hopefully he will be included in the Tri Nations squad.
I still have faith in 'Mr. Pringles' to do the right thing ;)

Sharks flank Jean Deysel has been suspended for two weeks after being found guilty of foul play by a SANZAR Judicial Hearing held in Durban on Tuesday.

Deysel was cited for a dangerous tackle on Waratahs centre Tom Carter during a Super Rugby match last Saturday. He received a yellow card for the offence.

SANZAR Judicial Officer Peter Ingwersen SC found Deysel guilty of contravening Foul Play Law 10.4 (e) for dangerous tackling of an opponent without the ball.

The Judicial Officer concluded that this was a lower end offence and ruled that Deysel receive the minimum sanction of two weeks.

2 weeks

Compared to Rhodes, doing something similar, 2 weeks is very lenient

should have been 6 and Botha should have got more than 6 for his headlock tackle that was sighted earlier in the season but he got nothing.

Well, if I recall correctly, the 51 man squad was announced in the same week that Deysel was due to return to the rugby pitch, kinda hard to judge his form in the doctors room ;)

True, Juan Smith was injured at the time as well.
Either way, still time for him to be included, with that being only the provisional squad.
