Prior to departing for the Northern hemisphere the squad will take advantage of an international exhibition game this Sunday against trans-Tasman rival New Zealand as they put the finishing touches on their preparation for the final two rounds of the HSBC Sevens World Series. The 3:00pm game will feature as a curtain raiser to the HSBC Waratahs versus Crusaders Round 10 FxPro Super Rugby clash and is something O’Connor believes will only benefit his side.

People out there do come up with good ideas sometimes! i think this is the right place for sevens being the build up to the main event. I think people would much rather watch a game of sevens before the game rather than cheap pre match entertainment. It would be cool if each Super Rugby team had a sevens team as well and the two competitions could run concurrently. To me it seems the best way to make sevens work with rugby union where as now it seems like it is replacing it in some parts of the world.
