Backs: Mike Blair (Brive), Nick De Luca (Edinburgh Rugby), Alex Dunbar (Glasgow Warriors), Max Evans (Castres), Stuart Hogg, Peter Horne and Ruaridh Jackson (all Glasgow Warriors), Lee Jones, Greig Laidlaw (both Edinburgh Rugby), Sean Lamont (Glasgow Warriors), Rory Lawson (Newcastle Falcons), Peter Murchie, Henry Pyrgos (both Glasgow Warriors), Matt Scott (Edinburgh Rugby), Tommy Seymour (Glasgow Warriors) and Tim Visser (Edinburgh Rugby)
Forwards: John Barclay (Glasgow Warriors), Kelly Brown (Saracens), Geoff Cross, David Denton, Ross Ford and Grant Gilchrist (all Edinburgh Rugby), Ryan Grant (Glasgow Warriors), Richie Gray (Sale Sharks), Dougie Hall (Glasgow Warriors), Jim Hamilton (Gloucester), Allan Jacobsen (Edinburgh Rugby), Alastair Kellock (Glasgow Warriors), Scott Lawson (London Irish), Stuart McInally and Ross Rennie (both Edinburgh Rugby), Tom Ryder (Glasgow Warriors), Alasdair Strokosch (Perpignan) and Kyle Traynor (Bristol Rugby).

Not considered due to injury:

Backs – Joe Ansbro (London Irish), Ben Cairns (Edinburgh Rugby), Chris Cusiter, Rory Lamont, Graeme Morrison (all Glasgow Warriors), Nikki Walker (Worcester Warriors) and Duncan Weir (Glasgow Warriors). Forwards – Alasdair Dickinson (Sale Sharks), Ed Kalman (Glasgow Warriors), Stevie Lawrie (Edinburgh Rugby), Moray Low, Pat MacArthur and Jon Welsh (all Glasgow Warriors)

So Maitland not parachuted straight in. That's a long injury list for a country like Scotland.

Disappointed to see Tommy Seymour has been called up. Was hoping he would see the light and just become a US Eagle. He really won't get that many caps for Scotland when everyone is back.

Nice to see a player called to a top teir team from us, its been a while

... I won't say it, but I want to.

I've pretty much said it... ********.

Maitland is out with a finger injury at the moment, so probably wasn't considered.

Certainly a big injury list for Scotland. A few new faces for Scotland - anyone able to guess what the top team will look like?

Certainly a big injury list for Scotland. Could someone with a bit of knowledge of Scottish rugby put down the likely top 23 from that lot?

Shouldn't make too much difference though. From that injury list, only Cusiter (who will be replaced by Mike Blair who is equally as good) and Morrison (who isn't that great and not vital to the team) would have likely started.

Most of those on that injury list wouldn't have played let alone made the squad at all if they were fit anyway. Kalman, MacArthur, Lawrie and Cairns are all fourth/fifth choice options. And other than Cusiter, Morrison or Ansbro the rest would have been bench players at best.

It will be interesting to see what Scotland do this year. Lets hope it is not another blowout by the ABs.

Kelly Brown is Captain

I think he is a great guy, and should make a good Captian, is a very consistant player for Scotland

Scotland team to play New Zealand. The AB's should definitely target the poor Scottish midfield and also the props. Also note that many people's Lions choice Dave Denton is on the bench.

Loads of people have put him in their Lions team on this forum calling him the form player based on a couple of games in February, disregarding that he spent the end of last season and June injured and has been on poor form so far this season. Still a good player, but is on poor form.
