The Blues have recruited once-capped Wales centre Gavin Evans from regional rivals the Scarlets.

Evans, 24, debuted for the Llanelli region in 2003 and has played 75 times for them, including 16 Heineken Cup games, notching up 11 tries.

Evans was called up to the Welsh squad in autumn 2006, making his debut in the Test against the Pacific Islands.

that's a really good signing for us, thought they'd sign a Welsh centre to replace Jamie Robinson. We now have a decent selection of centres again with Roberts, Shanklin, Hewitt and now Evans.

Hopefully he'll get some decent game time there. He hasn't really performed for the Scarlets since the 06/07 season so it'll be a good move for him.
Though it reinforces the stereotype that the Welsh regions are run by idiots who only buy players in positions where there's an abundance of cover already...
