Saracens have signed South African utility back Tiger Bax on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has previously represented Western Province and the Stormers and has recently been turning out for UCT in the Varsity Cup.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for me. Everybody in SA rugby is aware of what's happening at Saracens, and I am determined to take this opportunity," he said.

Bax will make his bow in English rugby in Saracens Storm's friendly meeting with Northampton on Monday night, starting at outside-centre.

Also in action will be former Springbok prop Deon Carstens, who is continuing his recovery from shoulder surgery.

They didn't go the whole hog with the quote but still:

Will he f*** the physio and then knock the Vicarage Road posts over in his 4x4?

'WP and Stormers player Tiger Bax'

LOL he had like 1 game for each at fullback and made a shutload of mistakes. Why would Saracens need him? It's not like he's one of the more stand-out players at varsity level.

Maybe they see 'something special' in him that others don't.

TBF Sarries do have a nack of getting something out of **** players: Wyles springs immediately to mind.

That said, we're yet to see any results out of Strettle.
