Sarries hooker loaned to Stormers

The Stormers have loaned hooker Ethienne Reyneke from Saracens as injury cover for wounded front-rower Tiaan Liebenberg.

Reyneke is training with the franchise while Liebenberg recovers from a longish term pre-season knee injury.

The 28-year-old has 20 Super Rugby caps to his name and Allister Coetzee confirmed he would like to see him in action in the Vodacom Cup before pulling him into a Stormers matchday 22.

Reyneke who played behind Schalk Brits at Saracens, joins current hookers Deon Fourie and Siyabonga Ntubeni in adding depth to the squad.

LOL that'd defeat the whole purpose of shoring up depth at hooker with Liebenberg out. Unless you meant Jaque Fourie.

Erg, they can keep him. I was sooo glad when he left and Luke Watson as well. Sure he will probably have more impact than Fourie but he isn't half the hooker Liebenberg is. He would just gift the opposition a ton of ball again and try to run the ball up when it should have gone through the hands again.

Him and Watson are too individualistic players, talented yes, but if you have too many greedy players you will always lose to teams that actually play together as a unit. We still have a player or three with the same problem though and thats the main reason why I feel we are probably going to lose this weekend; on paper we are a better team but the Highlanders know what they are doing and they are doing it as a unit and very clinically.
