RWC 2015: other predictions

Interesting consideration that. Collins is an absolute legend- may he RIP. I'd say now for SA it'd have to be either Alberts or Bismarck. We've been missing Jaque Fourie in that role in backline for a number of years while the world as a whole is missing Brian Lima though Samoa isn't lacking in players that can put some in a solid tackle.

Don't forget Schalk Burger. I still cringe just thinking of that tackle he made on Fourie Du Preez a couple of years ago in a Currie Cup match.

Nice.

I'm going with

Just so you know no one will think any less of you if you comment on something with your brain rather than your heart . I get you Welshies are hugely passionate people but Wales aren't the best at "everything" in rugby

i agree, however this is brain not heart and if you look at , Huget, Fofana twice, Brown,Picamoles, Basteraud, Cudmore, non of which are Welsh.
Reasons for choices are -:
1. North will get plenty of chances, Huget is as classy as another winger currently playing, his try v England was top drawer.
2. Can't see many scoring more points than Halfpenny
3. Fofana is class
4. Brown has a habit of making lots of ground.
5. Tipuric has a good off load rate.
6. Fofana will feed Huget and others with try scoring opps.
7. Wales 7,s will turn over plenty of opposition ball.
8. Basteraud need I say more.
9. Cudmore is a beast.
10. Tonga are brutal, ask Richard Hill.
11. Morgan may be a gamble but Bristol fans are aware of his ability to turn a match.
12. Uraguay I feel for them but will be cheering every point they score.
13. Got a feeling Georgia will disgrace themselves with multi cards.

SO I thought it might be interesting to see how things went for the group stages. I have to admit a lot of my assumptions turned out horribly;

Individuals
Most Tries Scored - Habana and Savea both on 5 ( I said Jesse Kriel... )
Most Defenders Beaten - ? ( Damian de Allende )
Most Metres made - DTH van der Merwe ( Israel Folau not even top 5.. man, my picks were horrible! )
Most Offloads - Leone Nakarawa ( Israel Folau )
Most Try Assists - ? ( Le Roux )
Most Tackles - Michael Leitch ( Scott Fardy )
Most points - Greg Laidlaw ( Johnny Sexton not even top 5 )
Most Turnovers - David Pocock ( David Pocock!! yay, 1 pick right )
Most Tackle Busts - ? ( Damian de Allende )
Most Clean Breaks - Anthony Watson
Most Line-Outs Stolen - Dean Mumm

Most cards (both yellow) - 2 to Campese Ma'afu
Only 1 single red given to Uruguay's Agustine Ormaechea

Does anyone have or know where to find reliable summed up stats for the rest?

Teams
Most Cards Recieved - Romania and Namibia tied with 3 yellows each

Most Points Scored - Argentina at 179
2nd South Africa at 176
3rd New Zealand at 174 (th ough top points difference at +125 )
4rth Australia at 141 is impressive considering the level of opposition
5th Scotland at 136
6th Ireland at 134
7th England at 133 (again a strange cluster of 3 with nothing between them; England probably in the toughest pool)
8th France at 120
9th Wales at 111 points scored.

Most Points Conceded - Uruguay the leakiest by far but a tough draw for them playing 3 tier 1 nations and Fiji in some form (Uruguay)

Most tries scored - New Zealand at 25
SA and Argentina tied at 22
Aussie at 4rth with 17
Ireland 5th at 16
England and Scotand tied 6th at 14 tries scored
France 8th at 12
Wales 9th at 11
Only these 9 teams broke 10.

I think you have Argentina's points scored incorrect. Both Supersport and Rugby 365 have them down for 179 putting them first in that log.

I see my addition comes to 179 as well. Not sure how I managed to bugger up in the first place. I'll edit and thanks for checking!
