It might seem ridiculous to start talking about something 12 months away, but it isn't. It feels as though I close my eyes during a sneeze and another month has passed by. This will be here before we know it.

For the 2007 and 2011 tournaments me and Charlie started to prepare well in advance and it paid off as the forum was extremely busy. So it may be a year away, but I want ideas, I want discussion and I want your suggestions right here and right now.

Getting this rolling will probably be one of the last significant things I do for TRF but I want to make sure that you're all ready to go. It is essential that everything is in place and I welcome debate about how best to prepare right away.

I'd love to try and get some interviews in the build up. When I first joined TRF it seemed as if there were interviews fairly regularly, and seeing things like that brought me in.

Agreed. I don't know how easy that will be to do because Charlie was quite important in that but it would definitely be worth seeing what we can do.

Would Charlie be able to assist us at all? Not doing the legwork, but at least passing on what he knows and how to best arrange these things? If we secure interviews, we can try and put info online. T2R posts links to their threads on the Reddit Rugby Union subforum. T2R are shameless (and have mods who erase posts/parts of posts) but putting out 'X player interview here' is acceptable.

Interviews should surely fall under the guys in red category to be honest. Thats what the guys are there for. To be honest Olyy picked us up a few via Twitter (Haskell being one), I did get Todd Clever but lost access to the account to get a chance to set a deal up. Be good if we can as a forum get accredited for RWC media too.

With RWC being 'local' for the brunt of TRF, we need to capitalise on it. It's looking unlikely that I'll be able to get over for it, but I will do whatever I can from my end.

Accreditation would be a real, real help. As for Charlie, I am sure he'd be happy to pass on whatever he has, but he no longer has his TRF email account.

Maybe we should draw up a shortlist of who we'd like to interview?

I would love to write the previews again, like we had 4 years ago. The problem is, we need some artwork to make the articles worth it. One of the reasons I don't enjoy writing anymore, is because we are not allowed to use photos anymore. I know, copyright infringements and all, but what can we do to resolve this?

Just give me a time table on when you want the 20 team previews, and I will start working on them.

I'd love to get some more interviews. Maybe Kaplan, he is writing a great deal these days. I'll have a think about who else. Maybe Lyndon Bray, I've seen him around and he did an interview on Reddit.

Was thinking we should kick off 2015 with he opening of a featured RWC15 subforum, thoughts?

Interviews would, absolutely, be great.

Are there certain management agencies that you have contacts to? It's easier to pick from a list of possible players than pull names out of your rear end and hope they're available


I also think it's worth reaching out to cyRil to see if he's interested in doing some pieces for us - really great writer.

Yeah, cyRil is a big loss to the forum. He speaks too much sense for some of these guys today.

Just to ask, would everybody be up for opening a general RWC15 subforum in Jan 2015? Just something temp, we can do a full category with say Pool subforums a month or two our from the event. Basically in the place we have 'featured subforums' now

Subforums: Pool A, Pool B, Pool C, Pool D, Knockout Rounds

One big subforum would get quickly overwhelmed with match threads.

As far as interviews go, I say ask as many as possible, just go full out, and when we have an idea who we can get, we go from there. Would be nice to have a few spread out in the buildup. Loved the interviews c.2010-11!

We can get, in theory, anyone - so it's a bit chicken and egg really. We'll approach some of the names already mentioned on this thread - but if you keep name dropping that'd be helpful.
