Maybe I missed it but I couldn't find a topic yet about tv shows regarding Rugby. There is Total Rugby, Re-Union, Fox Sports Extra Time and probably many more.

I have been watching these shows for a couple of years now but lately I've noticed how sloppy Total Rugby has become. Did anyone else notice how they talk about "Prop Flip van der Merwe" and "defending champions Toulouse"?

Last time I checked van der Merwe is a lock and Clermont won the TOP14 championship last season.

That's pretty weird. I noticed the T14 mistake, but I just presumed they were talking about the H-Cup. I have noticed a few errors. In New Zealand I watch several rugby shows such as:

Reunion: Presented by Tony Johnson on the weeks Southern Hemisphere rugby news and matches. Usually a very good review, and I think it's the best show.
Northern Exposure: Presented by Scotty "Sumo" Stephenson on Nothern Hemisphere rugby news. Covers a brief amount of material on NH rugby. Pretty good for a half an hour show.
Total Rugby: Presented by IRB. Global look at the game. Interesting in it's look at developing rugby countries and player interviews, but average game reviews.
Rugby Center: Presented by Ian Jones. Out of all of the shows, I find this one to be a little tedious. One hour long with no real original insight, and every show has College rugby shoved down it's throat.

Re-union is my favourite, mainly because of the focus on Southern Hemisphere rugby. I enjoy it more than the Fox Sports' Extra Time-show

I just check Re-union if I missed some S15 games. But nothing bets the real stuff.
On France 2 ( the Television channel, they also do really good highlights of the Top14 games)

They show Aviva, LV and Heineken highlights on ITV2 at some obscure hour in the UK, the highlights are decent, but they have a bit too much talking before the main highlights at the expense of the "lesser games" (for example, they'll talk up the Tigers vs Wasps match, and show 15mins of that, and then only show the tries/penalty kicks from the other matches)

Then of course there's:

Which is Welsh rugby highlights and talk and the such, it's a good show

On Setanta in Canada, we get Totally Rugby, and "The Breakdown", which has provided me with 1/6th of my 6 Nations knowledge, as it discusses all things relating to the Irish team in the Six Nations, and ... er ... did I mention that it discusses all things relating to the Irish team in the Six Nations :D

... when I lived in Australia, we had "The Rugby Club", which featured Greg Clarke, Phil Kearns, Greg Martin, and Rod Kafer ... some of Rod Kafers analysis on "The Chalkboard" as to how to beat some sides was interesting ... some of the cherry picked footage of team illegalities, from sides playing against Australian sides was also interesting (apparently the aussie sides don't cheat) :D

... The Los Vegas sevens coverage by NBC was also good in respect that they equated what was happening and the Rules to American Football well

It would be great to be able to see a few more shows

Out of the NZ shows I'd say Northern Exposure is my favourite. Mostly because I don't have the Rugby Channel/ESPN so it't the only way of seeing highlights from the NH matches (apart from Rugbydump anyway). Also I think Sumo is one of the best out of the NZ Rugby presenters/commentators at the moment.

Re-union is usually pretty reliable, but I'm not a big fan of Rugby Centre because I don't really like Ian Jones and the show itself is very formulaic.

Also despite it not being a Rugby only show I have to mention the Crowd Goes Wild as well. Just because it's pretty funny to see a more lighthearted look at the sports/rugby news for a change.

You guys are missing out. In the Uk we have School of hard knocks. Basically English world cup winning center Will Greenwood and ex welsh international number 8 Scott Quinell hang around outside an inner city job center looking for people with "no job or direction in life" and turn them in to a rugby team. Most of the lads they get have never even watched a game of rugby before. It is genious of the highest degree!!!

Only saw last years (season 2?) of School of Hard Knocks but it was brilliant :D

Olyy this ones just as good. Some French guy that turns up every day drunk, then makes a total *** out of himself, Scott Quinnell asked who thinks they're a forward and only 1 person knew what a forward was, and that was during the 1st pre match warm up!!! And an outside half who's apparently played rugby before but didn't let the ball bounce when attempting a drop goal. Genious i tells ya!!!
