Yes it would seem Hayne or (if you want an Englishman) Sinfield would be a much better option to lose to the God that is Greg Inglis.

However, Eastmond has gained fame recently because potentially he could become godlike, and so people who don't know too much about league nominated him.

I'm not even saying that Tomkins is the best player in the world.
