Very sad news,
That said I believe his life expectancy was something like 5 years when diagnosed? To make it to such an age is an achievement in and of itself, and the impact he had on bringing science into popular culture will be felt for a long time.

I don't know how he fought this disease for so long. Think Joost van der Westhuizen. He should be studied (maybe they already did) on how to prolong the lives of people with MND.

Didn't care either way but Jim "lets have a look what you could have won" Bowen was a TV personality I remember as a kid and even met once so I'm a bit more upset about his passing.
