I have recently heard about a australian winger who was fijian born and has just signed for the NSW Waratahs for the 08-09 super 14 season. His name is Ratu Nasiganiyavi and he is the cousin of Lote Tuqiri. I saw him play once and he's very good but people say he's the next Lomu because they play the same style of rugby (breaking out tackles, running, versatility etc.). I'm not sure. what do you think?

They say everyone is the next Lomu! BAH!

Whilst I've seen him play and must admit he is very very good, don't get overly excited.

Just look forward to seeing him turn in to a half decent player who is a regular starter and if he's lucky a bench player for the Wallabies/run on Australia A, really lucky if he finds himself as a full time Wallaby and uber lucky if he gets anywhere near Lomu's former ability.

He certainly is a big boy though! 6ft4, 121kg!

I'm not saying he won't be a superstar. In my opinion, provided he continues on his current path, I think he'll be playing international rugby in a couple of years. Its just that I'm getting sick of every massive islander tom dick and harry with a terrific athleticism about them who can enter a ruck, is hailed as the next Jonah Lomu.

The Waratahs backline is gonna be really cramped next year.

Burgess
Beale
Tiquri
Horne
Tom Carter
Turner
Tahu
Nasiganitavi
Norton-Knight

I hope Tiquri gets relegated to the bench.

This is him at his nudgee days, two times bigger than everyone else (bloody nsw stealing another queenslander)

I've got the best footage of him literally running through an entire team to score the winning try deep into injury time. I'll get some stills up when I get the chance.

He looks alright up against college players but Super14 is another level, no doubt he will be good player but he might have to condition and lose a few kgs to last the full 80min at this level.

There was a guy from Wesley College same as Lomu went to Frank Halai he was gonna be the next Lomu because he was 6'5, Tongan but the thing is he was light around 100kgs. Can't wait to see when the next Lomu comes alongs preferably for the All Blacks thou lol.

I think he needs to shred a bit more weight to be keep up with the pace at S14 level.

I saw him play in the U20s WC, very impressive, he was 1 of the best Aussie players imo.

It's Will Genia, hes been the reserve halfback for the Reds past two seasons.

Don't know how they are going to fit Genia, Lucas, Cooper and Barnes in. At least there will be decent depth in the halves for once. Yeah mate I've got all the games from 2005, they're just massive files. Got him scoring a few mad tries against Terrace and Southport too.

Genia 9
Cooper 10
Barnes 12

Is what I'd like to see

Ratu is huge and fast, should be a consistent starter for the Tah's next season.

I hope Norton Knight gets dropped. Worst player in the Waratahs for mine.

I saw him play in a few Sydney club rugby games this year and wasn't overly that impressed by him.

Don't believe the hype.
