Ospreys v Leinster should be good. What kind of team will Lesinter be putting out, will any of the players in the Ireland squad be playing?

They might get a few. Ulster have just got Small Paul, Gilroy and Ferris back, giving us...

Ulster squad: Rob Herring, Nigel Brady, Niall Annett, Callum Black, Ricky Lutton, Adam Macklin, John Afoa, Lewis Stevenson, Neil McComb, Mike McComish, Stephen Ferris, Robbie Diack, Ali Birch, Roger Wilson, Nick Williams, Paul Marshall, Michael Heaney, Ruan Pienaar, Niall O'Connor, Stuart Olding, Paddy Wallace, Michael Allen, Peter Nelson, Craig Gilroy, Chris Cochrane, Jared Payne, Ricky Andrew.

Unavailable for selection (14): Rory Best (injured), Tommy Bowe, Tom Court, Darren Cave, Chris Farrell (inj), Declan Fitzpatrick, Iain Henderson, Chris Henry, Paddy Jackson, Luke Marshall, Paddy McAllister (inj), Johann Muller (inj), Andrew Trimble, Dan Tuohy.

Ricky Lutton - never heard of him (I'm ashamed to say), is he any good & what age is the guy?

Would love to see Stuart Olding start at 10 for Ulster instead of Niall O'Connor. Suspect Mark Anscombe will pick Paul Marshall and Ruan Pienaar as his halfback combo though.

Don't know much more than you! Think he's about 25, spent a spell in England, went to Belfast Harlequins and got picked up this season as cover. Loosehead I think. Might be very wrong here though.

Speaking of Ulster front row news, Black and Herring have both extended their deals.

Snoopy - Agree with both of those, and would agree with Anscombe too.

Will be interesting to see who out of Andrew, Cochrane and Nelson loses out on a shirt for this match.

Daniel Evans returns!

Backs;
Dan Evans, Tom Prydie, Tonderai Chavhanga, Hallam Amos, Jack Dixon, Ashley Smith, Pat Leach, Lewis Robling, Steffan Jones, Jonathan Evans, Liam Davies

Forwards;
Jevon Groves, Tom Brown, Lewis Evans, Nic Cudd, Ieuan Jones, Rob Sidoli, Ian Nimmo, Adam Jones, Dan Way, Nathan Buck, Phil Price, Nathan Williams, Steve Jones, Hugh Gustafson.

Players not selected through injury;
Joe Bedford (Shoulder), Jamie Smith (Ankle), Dan Watchurst (Leg break), Darren Waters (Knee), Andrew Coombs (Knee), Mike Poole (Knee), Wayne Evans (Back) Dan Lydiate (Ankle) Hywel Stoddart (Knee), Matthew Pewtner (Hamstring) Aaron Coundley (Bicep) Adam Hughes (Hip), Sam Parry (Shoulder), Owen Evans (Shoulder)

Probably not. I'd imagine we'll send something like this out:

D Kearney
A Conway
E O'Malley
Goodman or Reid
F Carr
Madigan
Boss

R Ruddock
S Jennings
J Murphy
D Toner
Q Roux
J Hagan
T Sexton
H Van Der Merwe

Problems at 12 and 2. Having Rhys, EOM and Kearney Jnr. back are huge bonuses as we'd be fecked without them. Goodman should start imo. You might argue that it's a bit soon, but he's just off the back of an ITM season so he should be sharp, and this is exactly the period we need him for, ie. when Dorce and Ferg aren't available. I'd expect EOM to make it through about 50 mins and then Macken to come on. John Coshould also get considerable game time as there are still questions over Boss' fitness.

EDIT: Scratch that, EOM wont be back for another week or two. Macken to play the 80 in that case.

Squad for Edinburgh game:
(15-9):
R Andrew; C Cochrane, J Payne, P Wallace, C Gilroy; R Pienaar, P Marshall;
(1-8): C Black, N Brady (capt), J Afoa, L Stevenson, N McComb, S Ferris, M McComish, R Wilson;
Replacements (16-23): N Annett, R Lutton, A Macklin, R Diack, N Williams, N O'Connor, S Olding, P Nelson.

Still a pretty strong team I guess considering the amount of players away - however if it was up to me I would not be playing Ferris.
Wheres Rob Herring? Is he injured? I'm also glad Cochrane is playing he's quite good.

It's almost certain playing Ferris was a dictate from high and no one's choice at Ulster - relieved to see him though, adds a bit of bite.

Who do you think will win this match? Both teams have lost some of their better players and look weak. Can the Cardiff Blues get any worse than they were last week?

Horan vs Filise promises to be equally incompetent. Munster's replacement props are far superior to their starters imo, mistake by management not to go with Ryan and Du Preez considering how woeful the Cardiff unit is. If they'd gone after the set piece early they could have done some serious damage to their confidence and had the game fairly well wrapped up in my humble opinion.

I hope ROG gets shafted and Keatley has to bail them out again. That's always entertaining.

+1

Well, not sure about the "no one's choice at Ulster" bit... ;)

I always smile a little when 'ol gurny face gets run-over... yet again...

Still better than the Blues one!

I was under the impression their new South African tighthead was gonna be involved in this game?

I was more saying that they are all 'foreigners'
Stoddart: Pontypridd
Phillips: Neath/Ospreys
Maule: Dragons
Owen: Ospreys
