We're talking a tanking!

(Not completely unexpected though)

Was gonna start this Munster are actually looking dangerous on occasion.

Try by O'Mahony nice skills by Mafi ,Jones and Mick O'Driscoll of all people.

O'Donnell's looking good as well.

Was just about to say 10-3 ain't bad given how the half started...

Then O'Mahony goes and does that. Damn ye ye ********!

Arrgh. Great turnover by the backs out wide, 2 front rowers come in and walk straight over the ball... leaving the Munster fellas to just nip in around and lift it.

C'mon lads - a bit of brains - play what you see rather than getting into a set position!

Great try by Henderson you would nearly swear it was Ferris.

Hope O'Connell's ok was playing brilliant.

gone better than expected :p
henderson may turn out to be some player :D

I heart Hendo. Gonna have to watch this properly again tomorrow.

I thought Conor Murray had his best game for ages tonight, his service was quick and he made a few very good breaks. It'd be great if he started showing the form that got him into the World Cup squad again.
Jackson looked solid without doing anything spectacular, he seems to be settling into first team rugby nicely which, considering his age and scope for improvement, is a promising sign.
O'Connell's injury looked bad, I really hope it's something minor, Ireland really need him in New Zealand, and playing close to his best, to have any hope of making a decent fist of the three tests.

i love how biased bbc ni coverage is
"Henderson should be on the plane to ireland to gain experience".
surely he is quite far down the ieland pecking order? player for the future

Henderson will gain an awful lot more from playing with the u20's, don't mind those lads.

I heard the Ulster commentators getting heavily carried away with him after that try

I didn't watch the match, but outside the try, was he doing great work at the ruck, tackle etc, those are most important

I remember once English press and commentators getting mega carried away with Chris Jones once after he scored a try against Italy, it all got found out as over hyping him after one try in the end

He looked ok at the rest of it from what I saw, and everyone else I've seen talking him up. I'm going to have to watch it back.

Henderson to NZ is a ridiculous call, barring the squad getting decimated, but he is seriously worth getting excited over. That there is our new back-row signing for next season; tasty.

Ach, them boys always get a wee bit ahead of themselves.

I wouldn't be getting overly enthused with any forward's performance yesterday - at the heels of the hunt they were all part of a unit that was essentially destroyed by the Munster pack.

It also brought the Marshall/Jackson bandwagon down to earth a little - behind a largely retreating front unit, they found themselves unable to at least turn the Munster forwards around a few times when they did get the ball and each made a number of big mistakes that resulted in large territory losses. They do get credit for spirited defending though.

We might be in the HEC final and won in Thomond on the way, but by Jesus we're still a long way behind Leinster and Munster when considering squad strength.

I think if Mark Anscombe can get us into the Pro12 play-offs next year and once more out of the HEC pools, he'll have done a pretty decent job.

Anyone know what Henderson's strongest position is? Based on a quick googling it seems he has played second row as well. Given that Ferris would be ahead of him at Ulster and that Ireland have a rake of options at 6 its conceivable that his future with Ulster (and potentially Ireland) could be in a different position. Good prospect anyway.

Yeah, I reckon he'll end up in the second row. That's where he plays for the 20's anyway.

His main attribute is his ball carrying making him more suited to the backrow I'd say but he probably could do a job at 2nd row in the Rabo at the moment is to light I'd say and is the shortest possible for a lock really. Don't think he could play with Tuohy would have to be a lineout specialist i.e. Muller.

Iain Henderson will play second row primarily. Next season he'll be Ulster's fourth choice lock behind Johann Muller. Dan Tuohy and Lewis Stevenson and I think he'll see a lot of Pro 12 game time moving between the second and backrow.

It's a nice position for him to be in. Ulster aren't blessed with much strength in depth in either the back row or the second row, so yeah, as you say, he'll get lots of match time. I'd imagine that he'll over take Stevenson (who I've never really rated) in the pecking order soon enough.
