I can't stand Fussell. He looks bloody great at times, but you never can tell what he is going to do. ;)

Wingers have been dire for the Blues, Navidi and Pretorious been stand outs for the Blues.

Owen hasn't had the ball, has he?
Tom Williams blew a near certain try. I like Andries, good lad. Also, harsh card on Navidi, I think O. Williams infringed.

Morgan Allen is a decent player, bit round.

Missed tackles, poor positional play and wasteful kicking. So disappointing.

That's the thing with the Blues, they can't even do the basics well.
Passes are wild, I see players going above their head for the ball. I mean, christ, I think I could provide better service!
If the Blues could even pass and tackle they would be in a better state. They have three stand offs, neither are really Pro12 standard.

Sweeney was a big factor, many of his passes were wild tonight. Sometimes Lloyd's service is poor which doesn't help. Daf Hewitt is not as bad as some make out but its the man outside him who offers bugger all.

I see Gavin Evans occasionally break the gainline. Going in a straight line he can sometimes look decent, but he is 6'3"... The Blues backline just looks so scattered. No positioning, everybody just wants to run odd lines. In defence they have no clue. No one holds their own channel. It's like they are employing a drift defence, but instead of moving, they just maintain visual contact with the opposition. Honestly, hold your bloody line and hit the man. Keep passes low and IN FRONT of the receiver (this goes for international rugby as well). Honestly, the basics seem to be forgotten for 'fancy' moves/headless play. Like you pointed out last week, there just might not be enough emphasis on it.

The Ospreys made that win look relatively easy tbh. Solid not spectacular performance, nice to see that all the Ospreys back three had decent games, Fotuali'i had a decent game, Matthew Morgan was easily better than Ceri Sweeney on the day whilst the scrum did well winning a handful of penalties, although there is a big concern for the H Cup games as neither the tightheads who played on Friday are registered with ERC, and the Ospreys will have to face the hard task of Steenkamp and Johnston neither of whom are bad scrummagers.

Two Welsh teams in the bottom 4 ...

It wouldn't shock me if Connacht moved ahead of the Blues on current form. Zebre are expectedly dreadful and I don't see many oppourtunites for them to win a game for the entire season (perhaps they'll catch someone napping at home).

What a difference in how these two Italian teams are run, Treviso are at least competitive and especially at home(where it's especially crucial) are getting results.

Don't really like the amount of oversea players now, remember Jared Payne will be qualified in a year and a half. Anyway that's another debate, does anyone have predictions for Scarlets v Ulster?

Craig Gilroy to score? :p

I agree on your other point. I wouldn't want to see Ireland selecting a load of players who were almost good enough to play for the Springboks or the All Blacks.

strong bench for Ulster, honestly haven't heard of half that Scarlets team.

Ulster look much stronger than the Scarlets. I'd be surprised if they don't take this one easily.

Pity the Scarlets couldn't have Scott Williams and Samson Lee playing considering neither played a minute yesterday for Wales.

Both team quite poor in this game. Ulster going to win thanks to an intercept try, rubbish Scarlets set piece and partly thanks to Aled Thomas' poor display at 10.

Despite being without loads of internationals, this is a game the Scarlets will be annoyed for losing. They've been slightly the better team, but I suppose you can't win in conditions like this without a scrum or lineout.

Edit. How did Murphy not get man of the match? Thought he played extremely well save for one knock-on from a high ball.
