So my school semester is going to end in November and there'll be a pre-season training for my team in the beginning of December I think (could be earlier tho) and season starts around mid March next year. My question about this is, would the amount of time given be enough to prepare ourselves to be in our best shape? And if you wish to give any tips on the training, please do because we lack fitness training this year. This is because we're trained by former students, not a proper coach so every year the training is different.

Well depending on what position you play and what age you are i'd recommend different things.

For a forward focus on Power in the gym and short sprints.

If a back i'd recommend top end speed and hand eye co-ordination drills.

Let us know more info and i'll see if we can help some more.

Well, I haven't actually played in a match but my mates says I'm good for a center. But I don't have the speed but my coach (former student) says I'm a hard-hitter cuz I dumped tackled a forward during practice haha. I'm 16 btw

My height is 176 cm and I weigh around 62kg

Any other suggestions?

Im no back but i do know that you need to be either, really fast, really powerful or really good footwork (agility). I'd find out which one your good at and work at it to improve your skill in that area.

So either run round people, through people or past people.

As for gym work id still recommend

Squats, bench, Deads & overhead press. If you look at starting strength online that is a really good starting point.

Hope that helps

Yea I could be like Manu Tuilagi he's a damn hard-hitter and I'm not really good with foot work so it all comes down to strength. As per strength training, I don't have the money to get a gym membership so I can't really do any weight exercise but we do have tyres that we can use. Any suggestions?

Tire flips are very good for getting power.

If you are looking to be a Manu esque player i'd work on the ability to go from a run to a sprint instantly (which tire flipping will help in a way).

Centres that are difficult to tackle often cruise at a medium/high speed but just before the tackle when your opposite number has planted his feet you stick on the afterburners and cruise past them.

I wish i could be more help but i'm a forward.

Come on Backs help out!!!! Or do the forward have to do al the work like usual?

Thanks that's a good idea but problem is the tyres at my school are not the big tractor ones but more like the heavy-duty truck tyres around 40 inches I think
