Blues prop Scott Andrews has signed a new three-year contract with the Cardiff-based region.

The Pontypridd Schools and Glamorgan Wanderers product has been capped by Wales at Under-20, U18 and U16 levels.

"I'm really happy with the way my rugby career is developing," said Andrews, 20, who trained with the senior Wales squad before their New Zealand tour.

"Obviously I'd love to play for Wales someday so training with [them was] an extremely useful experience."

Andrews made his senior Blues debut in the Heineken Cup, coming on as a replacement for John Yapp when they defeated Harlequins in Cardiff in October.

This is good news. He is definitely a great prospect and played really well for his age against a few big front rows this season.

We have had a habit of letting good props go in the past. E.g Rhys Gill.

The Blues let Gill go I think purely for size. If you see him he is not the biggest. Scott Andrews has a massive future ahead of him. Did well when given the chance this season. Id expect to see more of him next season.

I've always thought that Andrews was tiny for a prop, actually, but then he is about 12.
