And so we are at the penultimate stage of the League on this gloriously wet bank holiday week end here in France (it is on the 1st May and not the first Monday in May) where all the shops are shut so we just go the 9 miles across the Border to Spain to fill up on fuel and food.........(85p for a litre of diesel and just under £1.50 for nearly a kilo of sweet, sweet strawberries)...is that why so many Springboks, Pacific Islanders and Australasians love it here?!!!
Biarritz can make a big move against 13th placed Montauban and then watch Albi and Aurillac both lose away to USAP and MdM respectively. A win and two losses here, which are the likeliest outcome, would leave BO only.....yes only....having to play their last game in the regular season at Dax knowing that their play off future would be in their own hands. It was this, and only this, possibility thatbrought me out of my deep melancholy this week!!!
Bourgoin (13th) can beat Beziers at home and that would leave the 14th and 15th placed clubs, Narbonne and Dax to fight it out at Narbonne with Dax presently desperately needing the win as they are two points adrift with Biarritz to come next week....
Interesting times!!
