hello all, as your all aware pre-season training is key. there is allot of advice on the type of strength exercises people should be doing. however, 99% require a gym. i know in the ideal world the gym is the best place for it but is there much you can do at home or out and about? reason being i simply cannot afford to join a gym so its out the question for me. i have the fitness side nailed down but not the strength training so much. for anyone interested im looking for flanker orientated exercises.

thanks :)

Just on some things as I specialise in physio and recovery so not as much the gym side with my job but would say from being involved slightly with Munster and worked with many AIL clubs in Limerick and surrounding areas it's simply divided on which programme and designer of the programme you follow. With Munster they ave state of art gyms so the use bars and all that etc but majority of AIL clubs ban the use of bars and solely work with dumbells and have a programme designed with that and if you have dumbbells you can do this in garden as I have done past few weeks in fine weather here. Alot depends on your position with regards weights etc and if anyone needs a type of programme I can try suggest 1
