Although I may seem a little 'doom and gloom' about the Welsh national team post-Gatland's departure, I'm really happy with this new move.

I've definitely been a bit worried over Byron Hayward's appointment as Defence Coach but my worries have been eased a little with the news that Warburton has also been taken on as Technical Advisor to the Defence and Breakdown.

I've always been a bit miffed at a lot of the ex-Welsh international players choosing a post-playing career in punditry rather than coaching. I get that it is obviously a hell of a lot easier and significantly less stress but part of the reason that there are not many Welsh head coaches around the game is that our top players tend to take the media route. This news (as well as Gethin Jenkins going the coaching route) is music to my ears.

Hopefully this will encourage a few more of the Welsh players who have played during the last decade to give back to the game, via coaching the next guys.

He no will add experience of having been there.
Does he have a coaching qualification to justify being there above others?
A great ex player rarely makes a great coach.
Martin Johnson is prime example.

All my thoughts. A very questionable appointment.
