Phil Davies set for Cardiff Blues role

I don''t know what you're talking about. I'm just keeping track of our awesome record.

Not sure how much this will actually change things.
It's still amateur hour with B+B there.

At least they have the lovely and talented Gavin Evans.

Well he has changed Worcester's for forwards i would quite like him to stay with us tbh.

I think he did a decent job for us when we had him, hopefully, he'll do the same for the Blues.

Not the name I wanted but he's got to be given a chance in the job before he is written off. With Bieber and MasterBlaster it could be disaster but if Phil dictates and takes the the lead then things won't be so bad.

I'm hoping that he will develop the pack because lot of players need to man up next year / gain experience and I believe Phil will develop that, but I am unsure how good he is at developing backs, if he leaves it to Bieber ... dear god help us.

whilst your record may be awesome, for it to be correct you should change it to "Undefeated in 1 game 200 miles away from Clermont" <_<

And to be correct it was technically a home game for Clermont thus resetting your counter or you could change it to 42 games unbeaten at Stade Marcel Michelin.;)

And to be correct technically, you are wrong

(i) the Semi-Finals will be played at a venue designated by ERC

it's just that ASM Clermont Auvergne are the number one team in the area (the football team has just a 10,000 ground), so unlike Leinster who get to play H Cup semi finals barely any distance from the RDS, Clermont had to be moved 200 miles to the other side of the country (which can't be considered home)

I actually think this is the best system, as it still got a great atmosphere in the crowd, and although Clermont did have an advantage at Bordeaux, it was diluted from what it is like when playing in the Clermont area, so it made a fairer

however I would also like to see Leinster moved out of their home city for a semi final like Ulster and Clermont were, they should have to play at Thomond Park or some GAA ground or something

There isn't really any suitable stadiums though. None of the available rugby grounds would be big enough to cater for a semi-final crowd, the only options would be Ravenhill, Thomond or the Sports Grounds and Leinster could fill any of them twice over for a semi.

The only stadiums with enough capacity would be GAA grounds like you mentioned, but as far as I know GAA rules still prevent rugby being played in them. The IRFU were only allowed use Croke Park while Landsdowne was being redeveloped and it was a strictly temporary arrangement. I think Munster got into trouble a few months back for using Pairc Uí Chaoimh for training when their own pitches were out of action. So it wouldn't really be an option.

The nearest suitable venue would probably be the Millenium Stadium and that would be a bit **** for the fans. :D

well then they need dig themselves out of the olden days, and stop acting like petty children

They're very tetchy about 'foreign' sports - don't go there!!

Of which just looked its 281 miles from Dublin to Cardiff so kinda resembles Clermont to Bordeaux :p (52 ish miles difference)

Ontopic however.. Hopefully he can help the Blues tbh

Yeah, well can you blame us? We're unlikely to forget that atrocity at the hands of the British any time soon.

I mean losing to Scotland ffs, it's enough to shame anyone into banning you from their stadium.

I agree. But whether they should give permission or not they'd still have to give permission for the stadium to be used. There could also be scheduling issues. They have national league finals around the same time of year. I do take your overall point though, it does give Leinster an advantage compared to other teams, it's just there's logistical difficulties with doing anything about it.

Fair point, but until amphibious cars hit the market a journey from Dublin to Cardiff is a sight more inconvenient than one on 200 miles of flat French motorway. :p
