Hello all,

I joined as a member nearly a year ago! And have lurked/read/stalked avidly everyday since. Finally have courage to say hello and be willing to post occasionally too.

I play rugby, in the best position there is, Hooker. Gotta love the front row union!

This season, I have had the role of captain for my local team I play for. This role has been interesting with challenges on decision making during pressure games, team selection, club politics and too much bloody admin!

I love the game, really believe it is the best team sport there is. Very protective of keeping Rugby Union as a game for all to join and be part of.

Passionate about my local club, Wasps, and England. But, really love to watch beautiful rugby, games that are played with talent and passion. I suppose that is why I find myself drawn to watching teams like Leinster, Toulouse, Gloucester (of the 2012 variety), All Blacks, Wallabies. But really love the confrontation and power the South Africa team bring, love to watch that!

I have had some interesting experiences following the forum for a year as a lurker. Some members, and threads have really stuck out for me.

Big Ewis/Yoe91 of the many faces (changing avatars!), is my hero and villain! He is the member that is most entertaining to read, with a clear passion for beautiful rugby. Over reacts emotionally to fairly innocuous comments if they are directed at him, but with amusing humour and bizarre over the top responses, that are entertaining to read. I might be a little biased towards supporting Ewis though, as I am a fan of all things french and France have always been my second team in the 6N since I was a kid, and avidly watch the Top 14 too.

Draggs is the daddy, a passionate Welshman that wades confidently into any argument that has gotten ridiculous and takes control or puts a stop to it. He also appears to be the most objective Welsh fan I read.

Henry is always no nonsense in views, but loves to stick a spanner in and wind someone up on person, and of course is a huge supporter of Elliot Daly as am I.

Smart Cooky is one of the most knowledgable and helpful for answers, but seems to lose all objectivity when writing in the depressing 'Heineken talks have ended' thread.

There are many others I enjoy reading too, like Big Ginger, Peat, J'nuh, Rats, MonsterMuffin. But extra special mention has to go to SigeSige, where has he gone?!
Can I suggest a monthly SigeSige corner feature, with full PowerPoint presentations of proposed ideas and rule changes, followed by group discussion and questions facilitated by a flow of beer and port.

Fiecarsinn is the funny one, Darwin is the cute one, Olyy is the black one from the 'streets'.

Welcome to the forum, interesting first post. Ewis has secretly been admiring you too, be careful.

sigesige tends to come in waves, posts for a while, than goes away for a bit. I would expect his return at some point, he also tends to post in some more off beat threads so you might have missed some recent comments.

Thank you Nick. I am sure Ewis is quite harmless, and sure will cross paths with the Big Ewis at some point.

Thanks Little Guy. I will have to search out more of SigeSige for reading later.

Ewis is ours, he is a special one :D
Welcome! Hope you decide to keep posting, glad you like our little corner of the rugby world.
Thanks for your kind words. I see myself as a figure members can look up to, and a role model for being a solid lad. The only path is Wales/Sharks, and I hope you will join me on it.

I must warn you of Little Guy, I think he is heavily involved in a Toronto politics, so he 'knows people'. He also challenged me to a fight, so there's that.

Cheers for the mention. Hope to see you add in your contributions.

hahaha, now now nick, don't say such a thing ! He's just joined the forum now, after long stretches of autism and pathological soul searching...and plus, you'd give him the wrong idea about me ! I don't mean to sound too middle class or anything but I'm nothing but a swell, turtle-neck wearing bourgeois and the word that would describe me best has got to be "Ba'al-anced"....ehm woopsy ! I meant "balanced" of course, i.e. no reference at all to some millennium old cabalistic deity concept, haha, at all ! Silly, siiiiiilly me-e !! :D
ahem..

And Mumbles, careful with the French loving thing man...there are beautiful things in France but my goodness things as horrible as their gastronomy is delicious...eaaaaasy there...
And about me being - oh I'm sorry, I'm reminded (by myself) to tell you "Welcome !" - about me being weird or into bizarre sexual practices involving the full moon and numerology or whatever the hell strange things you've mentioned about me there, necronomicon, Shamanic incantation - I must say I think that aside from feeling sympathy towards you, I think you're completely bunkers. And I mean this in the most heartening, least pagan possible way. Horus errr...God bless you, new comer. Thanks for reading us all this time, Mumbai, despite the immense almost infinite loss of time it represents...

Haha cheers Draggs, will keep that in mind.

No worries Big Ginger. Just hope I can add substance to the the immense amount of information people share on here.

Big Ewis - thanks and may Dionysus bless you too.

Welcome to the forum!

I take it that you didn't mention me because you realise what a modest gentleman I am and that it would embarrass me! Well my friend you are, of course, correct! Had you stated that I was the big brother of the forum, the role model, a golden eagle that soars above and stands out in a world full of great and wonderful birds of all shapes and sizes, the member that, quite simply, all other members aspire to be you would have been correct but I would have been truly embarrassed so I thank you for saving me from such discomfort.

Looking forward to reading your contributions, hopefully you're more constructive than me! :D

Thank you Cymro. And thanks too Cmac, you are obviously correct... I felt stating your inspirational position might accidentally darken the glamour of your inspiration.

I had so many others to thank too for entertaining and enlightening me over the last year too. Sorry to those I missed off. After trying other forums previously, such as Planet Rugby (full of rugby tourists), this forum has members willing to discuss and understand a focus on rugby. With some friendly banter thrown in too.

Cheers MunsterMuffin

Err... Does that count as a double post? Sorry, still learning a bit about forum etiquette

I tried to start a Sige appreciation group named The League of Sige but it didn't really take off unfortunately. I'm a huge fan of them as is evidenced by the fact that most of his rep came from me and Cmac.
Anyway, welcome to the jungle. Prepare to hate everyone here, I know I do. Even Cmac and we're related. I guess I just don't know any other life......

Thanks sulli. I think I remember that appreciation thread, will have to track it down again
