Hello all,
I joined as a member nearly a year ago! And have lurked/read/stalked avidly everyday since. Finally have courage to say hello and be willing to post occasionally too.
I play rugby, in the best position there is, Hooker. Gotta love the front row union!
This season, I have had the role of captain for my local team I play for. This role has been interesting with challenges on decision making during pressure games, team selection, club politics and too much bloody admin!
I love the game, really believe it is the best team sport there is. Very protective of keeping Rugby Union as a game for all to join and be part of.
Passionate about my local club, Wasps, and England. But, really love to watch beautiful rugby, games that are played with talent and passion. I suppose that is why I find myself drawn to watching teams like Leinster, Toulouse, Gloucester (of the 2012 variety), All Blacks, Wallabies. But really love the confrontation and power the South Africa team bring, love to watch that!
I have had some interesting experiences following the forum for a year as a lurker. Some members, and threads have really stuck out for me.
Big Ewis/Yoe91 of the many faces (changing avatars!), is my hero and villain! He is the member that is most entertaining to read, with a clear passion for beautiful rugby. Over reacts emotionally to fairly innocuous comments if they are directed at him, but with amusing humour and bizarre over the top responses, that are entertaining to read. I might be a little biased towards supporting Ewis though, as I am a fan of all things french and France have always been my second team in the 6N since I was a kid, and avidly watch the Top 14 too.
Draggs is the daddy, a passionate Welshman that wades confidently into any argument that has gotten ridiculous and takes control or puts a stop to it. He also appears to be the most objective Welsh fan I read.
Henry is always no nonsense in views, but loves to stick a spanner in and wind someone up on person, and of course is a huge supporter of Elliot Daly as am I.
Smart Cooky is one of the most knowledgable and helpful for answers, but seems to lose all objectivity when writing in the depressing 'Heineken talks have ended' thread.
There are many others I enjoy reading too, like Big Ginger, Peat, J'nuh, Rats, MonsterMuffin. But extra special mention has to go to SigeSige, where has he gone?!
Can I suggest a monthly SigeSige corner feature, with full PowerPoint presentations of proposed ideas and rule changes, followed by group discussion and questions facilitated by a flow of beer and port.
