I can't see this mentioned anywhere else - word has it Kurtley Beale has signed for the Melbourne Rebels for next season.

First alerted to the news by a Tom Prydie re-tweet on twitter and then Greg 'Clarkie' Clark of Fox Australia saying: "Well the Rebels have done it. They've agreed to terms with Kurtley Beale and he'll be moving to Melb next season. It's huge for the Rebels."

Not the best link, but it's all I could find atm: http://www.sharksworld.co.za/2011/04/13/kurtley-beale-becomes-a-rebel/

If true that's quality
They need a good fullback and they don't come much better than Beale

Rebels looking surprisingly strong as it is (bar a couple of batterings), next year they're going to be a force to be reckoned with

Unlike the Force... :p

Hold on...Mark Gerrard was in really good form earlier, what's happened? Maybe he'll move to wing...

Between Cipriani, Gerrard (he has had an injury thats why you havnt seen him for a couple of games) and next year Beale the Rebels certainly have the 10 and 15 jerseys covered.

Have to say they have been a huge surprise and I have already eaten my words.

Phipps is leaving to the Tahs apparently as well. Hopefully Kingi can play 9 next year.

I think they'll use Gerrard as a utility back - he's been named at outside centre for this weeks match against the Highlanders, with Kingi at Fullback

Rebels capture Kurtley Beale for 2012

Rebels capture Kurtley Beale for 2012

Waratahs and Wallaby fullback Kurtley Beale has agreed to join the Rebels and will move to Melbourne for the 2011 Super rugby season.

Beale was one of the IRB Player of the Year finalists in 2010 and will announce later today that he will leave the Waratahs.

Twenty-two-year-old Beale joined the Waratahs straight out of school and has been one of their stars since he moved to fullback last year.

It is understood that the Waratahs made Beale an offer to stay and the Rebels offer was not too different but Beale wanted a change.

More to follow.

Amazing addition to the Rebels-squad.

Aparently James O'Connor is goign to follow him too. That will be a huge kick in the head to both the Tah's and Force.

More so for the Force. The tahs can bounce back but the Force are dead in the water without JOC.

Great addition, they have certainly proved many wrong this season.
Anything better than Rooney at fullback, eh?

Cipriani on his way out if one/both of those sign?
Rebels coach reckons he'll stay next year...

Well, with AAC moving from the Brumbies to the Tahs, they don't really lose anything with Beale that they cannot replace with AAC

Had this debate with cyRil and a mate today. Believe they will play O'Connor at 12. Cippers will stay.
