<div align=\'center\'>We've had the nominations, now it's time for the polls.

Who is the NH Young Player of the Year?

In the event of a tie, the player with the most nominations will win.

I've voted fo Leigh Halfpenny, just because I don't class Sexton as a young player. He's 24! If the award was for best newcomer of the year, then fine, but not best youngster.

Pfff he was 23 during the year, seems fine to me.

Anyway compare the two's achievements this year and there is only one winner.

well in fairness they're quite similar in terms of their impact on the season, Sexton's impact is more recent due to his 2 international performances (obviously not forgetting the HEC) but Halfpenny made more of a mark at the start of the Six Nations and international performances hold more weight than provincial ones. Sexton up to now though has had a more consistent run while it's been more stop start for Halfpenny with his injuries.

Ah but Sexton won something this year.(not that is the sole barometer for talent but it helps) Just put it this way, we wouldn't have beaten Munster, Leicester or South Africa without the Sex

EDIT: Mite, O'gara was also a Lion ;)

well good for you but neither are Lions, since Halfpenny never got a game on tour and Leinster dropped that awful marketing gimmick long ago.

No he wasn't. He's an arrogant, American little ****, pussying his way through life and bottling vital tackle which cost us the series.

Then being a silly c*** by giving away a penalty in the dying seconds of a vital test match then having the gaul to to joke about it.

He should be exterminated.

You become a Lion once you go on tour, regardless of test caps or whatever.

Except O'Gara. His doesn't count.

Nope Mite, I'm gonna use a bit of inductive reasoning here and say that you voting for Leigh Halfpenny is admitting that ROG is a good player.

I don't remember Halfpenny costing the Lions 10 points in the dying minutes of the deciding test in South Africa... <_<

On a more relevant note, I voted for Halfpenny here simply because his rise was much more rapid and because of his adversity (sp.?) and that he's a good few years younger than Sexton. He's scored more test points too! ;)

Halfpenny is actually a young player and not a 24 year old who's developed late.

Thaz what I said. And he's only been good since like April....

And just within Ireland: Kearney, Ferris, Earls have been good all year and are all younger. And Luke Fitzgerald too.

All good points. I won't moan though if Sexton wins, he's really progressed this year into a top class 10.

I personally voted for Dan Lydiate due to what he's gone through before earnign a Welsh cap. To have broken his back, recovered and be capped by the age of 20 is remarkable!

Tommy Bowe is 25, he should be young player of the year!

Voted for Halfpenny.

Sorry lads its a flawed poll. Too many votes going to Halfpenny due to age as opposed to rugby.

Sexton was the better player, but he's 24.

I think there's just as many people voting for Halfpenny because of Sexton's age...
