I live in the U.S. and was interested in getting a rugby ball and a rule book so that I could play with buddies. How hard is it to adjust the rules to play something like a four on four game? Can I use a football field? Can I use a football or do I need to buy a rugby ball? Any help is much appreciated!

At school we used to mess around with a rugby ball in small groups, maybe teams ranging from 3-a-side up to 8-a-side.

Using modified Sevens Rules is probably easiest for you, 1-on-1 scrums if youre only playing 4-a-side.

It depends how serious you want the games to be...if its just for fun then just use basic, fundimental rules of rugby.

As for the ball and field....field should be the right size, just need to mark out the 22 & 10 metre lines
The ball, might be worth investing in a rugby ball, dont have the laces in the way then, though for starters a football would probably work
