Munster's Pre Season Tries.

Yeah, Feliz the Cat ripped 'em up pretty bad and Denis Hurley does look far better on the wing. Looks fast and stroing in his first try against Leicester.

He looked like O'Driscoll in the old days, but that could be because of the opposition, how strong a Leicester team was that, did any of the starting 15 play?

he's only 25. The Leicester side wasn't that weak, plenty of the first team were starting.

Felix's try was top, top class.

He really looks like he could go on to be a special player.

I've been looking for the Felix Jones try against Leicester for bloody ages, and it was worth the wait, this kid is looking awesome. What the hell were Leinster thinking?
Some other decent tries in there too.

Probably thinking they got Kearney, Fitzgerald and McFadden coming through and they still have Horgan, D'arcy, Girv, BOD, Nacewa and Berne. Thats alot of backs as it is.

What do you think will happen if Jones lives up to the hype and gets selected for the Irish squad? His profile on the Munster site describes him as a Universal back. So that's Earls, Fitzgerald and Jones who can play anywhere in the Backline, and Kearney can play on the wing as well as Fullback. I know it's foolish making up Backlines with players who haven't proven themselves yet, but my POTENTIAL backline would be something like...

15 Jones
14 Kearney/Bowe
13 Cave/McFadden
12 Fitzgerald
11 Earls
10 Sexton/Keatley

It's crazy how much you could mix that line up. I mean that has the potential to be one of the most lethal backlines in the world. Then you all this other talent coming through like Conway, Deasy, Macken etc. It all counts for **** though if we don't produce the forwards to provide them with decent ball.

nap Kearney shouldn't be moved from fullback, he thrives there. I also don't see why Earls seems assured of his place on that team. Bowe is twice the player.

This is a POTENTIAL Backline, and Earls has heaps of it. Remember he's still only 21. If you were to compare Bowe at 21 to Earls now I would have said Bowe wasn't even in the same league.

Have to agree with this fella. Bowe when he was 21, we were all calling a slow and not very inventfull player and now (I still can't get to grips with it....it's Tommy Bowe like) is in quite a few 'best team of the year' selections.

However, I don't think Earls' best position is at wing. He's far better off steadying up his defence and playing at outside centre or sticking with fullback where he can make use of those lethal counter attacing skills and massive right boot that we occasionaly see.

However...crazy that Ireland suddenly so much choice in the backline now (to think I was worried when Hickie was retiring) and playes like Earls. Jones, Mcfadden and Cave will really have to fight to get into a match day 22 let alone a 15.

But Jockstrap is right, we have potentially a very dangerous backline in the works. It's the Front 5 we have to worry about now, particularly at Tighthead and I'm somewhat worried about Second Rows onces O'Connell and O'Callaghan retire.

Just seeing this for the first time now.

Jones' try against the Tigers was indeed special. Barnes looks to have a bit about him too.
