Was going through my head to think of truly brilliant rugby matches I watched this year and have come to the conclusion that recent rule changes to make the game better have left us in a state where the scrum and kick chase are the most valuable skills for a team to have in rugby right now and we're relying on pace merchants for entertainment.

Whilst I think thats a worthy discussion that does belong in here, I thought I'd use it to get everyone who wishes to share what they thought the best games of the year to watch were. Either I'll reinforce my waning love of the game or I'll be reminded of or pointed in the direction of some crackers.

Here are mine, no particular order, have cancelled out my one potentially biased selection with an extremely unbiased one:

Toulouse v Bordeaux - Top 14 Final
Ireland v England - 6 nations
England v France - 6 nations
Glasgow v Toulouse - Champions Cup Pool stage
Leinster v Saints - Champions Cup Semi-Final

I don't have the power to bam anyone but if you post Ireland v South Africa, I trust the powers that be will take care you.

Edit: I didn't watch enough women's rugby to include. Feel free to post a seperate top 5 or mix the two however you please.

Leinster vs Saints
Bath vs Saints
Ireland vs France
Ireland vs SA

Feel like I'm digging at Ireland. I'm not they've just they've been involved in some exceptionally good games last year. All four being great away wins.

England vs Samoa Womens RWC.

Simply one of the most fun crowds I've ever seen at a rugby game. Just a great day out.

Leinster v Saints…..
and sorry to be a bit of a d***head, but England putting 68 on Wales in Cardiff will never not be entertaining.

The 2nd Lions Test at the MCG deserves an honourable mention as well.
