Harlequins prop Joe Marler and his Leicester counterpart Marcos Ayerza will both miss their club's European Cup quarter-finals after being suspended for fighting.

On Monday Marler and Ayerza were banned for two weeks each following their dismissals for striking with the fist and head respectively during Saturday's Aviva Premiership game at the Twickenham Stoop.

The pair, who pleaded guilty, were suspended by an RFU Disciplinary Panel of Jeff Blackett (chair), Philip Evans and Jeremy Summers from April 5 to April 18.

They can play again on April 19.

if it's true both teams will be without key players hope the game is still good though

if it's true
It is :p

Here's what got them carded, if anyone missed it:

Ayerza clearly started the fight with the headbutts, but Marler no saint grabbing Ayerza by the scrumcap first - Shouldn't have thrown the punches either
Fair punishment at the end of the day

Marler didn't deserve the ban in my opinion :/ Headbutting is an utter dick move..

Marler was unlucky. In most cases it would have been just a yellow card. Ayerza deserved the red and should have been suspended for a month.
