Lower nations gain strenght

Some might say lower nations will never bclimb to high attitudes but please look at the IRB Nations cup 2008 standings and say then who is is who in future rugby
Roania, Georgia heighten standings meanwhile Russia's play makes sense :cheers:

Would be interesting to see that teams play, never really seen them, only on World of Rugby every now and again I see a bit of updates.

Yeah sure that's annoying thing that lower nations are a bit enclosed from their 'big brothers" this isolation creates gap between teams and I think halts the rugby development in small countries, I think the high ranking tournaments must become more loyal to the smaller nations and lt them in, I am not talking about the Tri-Nations of course because of it's specific nature but what about RBS Six Nations? could be better if the last ranking team was driven out and the first from the second division could enter that schedule, could be good but authorities do not care much about "lowers"

I don't see why south africa would have a seconds team in that tourny... based on geography most of these teams are all in the northern part of the world, right?

Sure they life far far away from Eastern and Western Europe but the more possible high ranking teams will face off against the "lowers" the more these last will gain experience and skills and more the world rugby will get interesting as not only five or four nations will always fight for gold.
Could be good the more nations to participate in these (and other such) tournaments.

i guess the thinking is that SA want to have a development side in a contest just like everyone else. so its either this or the churchill cup (P6N bit far really) and well ya might as well take on full internationals than irish english and argentian A sides and it has the advantage of practially being in the same time zone as SA

anyway presence of RSA (despite emerging or A or dont care) adds more charm on tournament as RSA authorities think hard about the staff to move to IRB Nations cup anually
And our teams are also motivated it is always pleasant to have whole match playing advantage over the world champions
I repeat: the more the high ranking teams will participate in these nations cup and other tournaments the more the lowers will gain the experience and class too.

Perhaps a alternative world cup (except you don't call it that or everyone complains...call it 'the Emergence Cup' or some other crap like that), and have the teams which are the subject of this here thread and maybe under 21s teams from the more dominant nations and an under 14s team from New Zealand.
