Libya- Tripoli falls

Tripoli has been taken by the rebels and according to the Twitter rumour mill Gadaffi is dead. Sky have a reporter on the ground and showing lots of partying and cheering in the streets.

Moussa Ibrahim is doing a good impression of Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.

The BBC are reporting on the cricket and announcing that some bloke has invented "elastic-trickery".

It'll be very interesting to see what happens now. The UN and NATO have to make sure that tribal feelings aren't allowed to spill out into a genocide scenario. The fighting is just about over, but the next ten years are where the work really has to be done.

stop your stupid anti BBC agenda, they are far less biased than any other UK news company and are world renowned for news, and on the World Service I guarantee they have live coverage and reporting etc

and I can also guarantee you they didn't misspell Libya also

So while Sky have Alex Crawford on the ground in Tripoli, BBC are covering the cricket. The 20 minutes later, broadcast Moussa Ibrahims press conference and claim it was live. 4 Sky news reporters are making fools of Aunties 4000 "Journalists". Do you work for the BBC per chance?

In other news, Gaddafi is supposedly speaking on Libyan TV, so not dead.

Gaddafi will be gone in no more then a month... I bet you any money you will see a UN mandated, NATO-led peacekeeping force in there sooner rather then later.

Six months of civil war came to an end Sunday as rebels swiftly moved in and took control of Tripoli with surprising ease. Despite remaining pockets of resistance, Gadhafi’s forces crumbled and faded into the shadows. President Obama announced his support of the rebels from Martha’s Vineyard, where he is vacationing.

Moammar Gadhafi's forty two years of rule came to an end Sunday. Rebel insurgents have overtaken the capital city of Tripoli. Thousands cheer in the streets today as Gadhafi remains hiding. Gadhafi made a speech which fueled the rebellion and emboldened many to join the cause. In the speech, Gadhafi promised to hunt down protestors “inch by inch, room by room, home by home, alleyway by alleyway.†Now, Tripoli falls to rebel forces. Citizens, secretly armed by rebels, rose up and joined them. The future of Libya is now in the hands of the Libyan people itself. I just hope and pray that they'll be enlightened and this chaos will end.

If the Rebels are playing this well now, imagine how they'll go with Beale and O'Connor!! :p

Most papers the morning - Headlines on Tripoli etc

The Sun - AMY: DRUGS DIDNT KILL HER

Have to giggle at their insistence that we are supposed to care. Poor them
