This doesn't mean he's been playing badly though?Again, I reiterate an earlier comment, Keenan has been pretty invisible this 6N
Kinghorn makes headlines as he's been good, but Scotland chuck it about a lot and he's a big part of that game plan

Keenan was probably the only Irish player to match up / outplay his opposite number last week too, was genuinely class. Had the big moments over Kinghorn in Edinburgh too I thought, the try that put it to bed was his call and chase that exposed Kinghorn being out of position. This doesn't mean he's been playing badly though?

Russell has his faults but who gets picked before him.FTFY
Yeah FH is definitely an area of concern for Farrell I'd imagine. There's no one head and shoulders above the rest. Russell should get it based on experience, but you'd still be worried what kind of performance he might put in.Russell has his faults but who gets picked before him.
To a point, I agree. However, I'm still ok with Russell being first choice, it's the form from those behind him that would have me thinking.Yeah FH is definitely an area of concern for Farrell I'd imagine. Very true, it will be down to what Farrell can get out of him. I don't think him and Townsend are particularly close but that's to be expected as they are both fly halves and the room isn't big enough for both their headsRussell has his faults but who gets picked before him.
Like most 10s, if the forwards are going well then rarely is there a bad performance. Russell has the talent to make the difference ahead of his competition and has far more experience than anyone else in contention.Very true, it will be down to what Farrell can get out of him. Agreed. He is the one world class FH we have for Lions selectionLike most 10s, if the forwards are going well then rarely is there a bad performance. Russell has the talent to make the difference ahead of his competition and has far more experience than anyone else in contention.
I'd like to see Pollock as the bolter. Looks like a 100 capper.I'm expecting Josh VdF to go nuclear on the Lions tour to be honest. Test Lion is really the only thing he has to add to his honours list so he's up there with any Irish player ever.
Miss out on the plane or 23?I'd like to see Pollock as the bolter. Looks like a 100 capper.
VdF I have a weird feeling is going to miss out but I actually agree he strikes me as the type of player who would come in under radar and get player of the tournement.
With Lawrence injured I don't think even Henshaw has much of a chance of missing out. People keep bigging up Jordan's versatility but as far as I'm aware Farrell can pick a squad that is as big as he likes and call up any player he likes at any time for essentially any reason. Versatility shouldn't really be a factor, it's not a RWC squad with loads of limitations and red tape, he can afford to focus on specialists. Can only see the 10s, Hansen and Henshaw missing out among our starters. England finished ahead of us deservedly but Ireland were still 17/18 against other Lions teams in the 4 year cycle, hard to see us not having the most representation.
Agreed, and think it's the right choice too![]()

Still, think Farrell chooses Doris.
