Leicester Tigers v Perpignan
Welford Road
Leicester, England
Sun Dec 19 2010

Not feeling too confident about this. If we can't at least be equal in the scrum, it'll be another long day. It won't happen, but I'd like to see:

11 Anyone but Alessana
12 Trees

Perpignan definately exploited Alessanas weaknesses on saturday

Didn't realise this was on at the same time as the Saints game, not sure which to watch

If the last round is anything to judge by, I'd say this one.

Perpignan will be without three France internationals for their Heineken Cup clash with Leicester on Sunday.

Full-back Jerome Porical, prop Jerome Schuster and hooker Guilhem Guirado have been given a week off as part of an agreement with the national side.

League and Federation French clubs are obliged to give internationals that took part in the November Tests a week's holiday before December 31.

The Catalan side have decided to rest the trio but France prop and club captain Nicolas Mas will make the trip and instead miss a Top 14 fixture on December 29.

In the absence of Schuster and Guirado, reserve front-rowers Charles Geli and Benoit Bourrust have been added to the squad for the Pool Five contest at Welford Road.

French centre Maxime Mermoz comes back into the squad after recovering from injury but fellow backs Jean-Phillippe Granclaude and Gavin Hume are still sidelined.

Leicester should take advantage of this as they got pushed around a wee bit by the Perpignan pack last week. Now it can be their turn and they are helped by the fact that it is at home.

Mas not being rested will cause Leicester some headaches, especially after seeing the "three french internationals rested" ***le :p

Think Leicester will win, but not by much at all (3points ish)

From the ERC site:

15. Geordan Murphy, 14. Scott Hamilton, 13. Matt Smith, 12. Anthony Allen, 11. Alesana Tuilagi, 10. Joe Duffey, 9. Ben Youngs, 1. Marcos Ayerza, 2. George Chuter, 3. Martin Castrogiovanni, 4. Louis Deacon, 5. George Skivington, 6. Thomas Waldrom, 7. Craig Newby, 8. Jordan Crane,
16. Rob Hawkins, 17. Julian White, 18. Dan Cole, 19. Ed Slater, 20. Steve Mafi, 21. James Grindal, 22. Jeremy Staunton, 23. Manu Tuilagi,

Um, yeah. However, 2 THs on the bench is correct.

What theeeeee?
Billy Twelvetrees must've been caught doing rude things with Cockerills daughter or something

As in the deceased Irish broadcaster? Wow. He really got it back together.

My bad, I should've mad it clearer that the 3rd choice hooker instead of Flood was a typo.

Twelvetrees is ok to play in England; he is not good, but he isn't bad either. The just has not the level to play in the HC. And Cockerill should know that. He cost Leicester the game.

It was an unfortunate game to have a wobbler from the tee.

Flood and Crane failed late fitness tests, bringing 12T and Mafi into the XV. Waldrom was Waldrom, but I remain unconvinced his control at the scrum is as good as Crane's. Murphy ran a few good lines.

Perpignan's scrum was considerably weaker when Tincu was subbed off.

I'd still back Tiggers and Perp to progress, despite this giving Scarlets a boost
