Wales captain Lee Briers will not quit international rugby and says that he intends to lead his country in next year's Four Nations.

The Warrington half-back, 32, ended a three-year international exile to help Wales retain the European Cup and seal a Four Nations Series place in October.

"My aim was to play in the European Cup and then probably retire," admitted Briers.

"But I've got the bug again to play internationally," he told BBC Wales.

Briers led Wales to two Four Nations wins in October, 60-22 against Scotland before a narrow 31-30 win against Ireland.

Great new for Wales RL, will be desperate to have all welsh qualified super league players available for next years four nations. Its obvious we'll be the whipping boys next year, but with "better quality" players (no disrespect to any non "higher tier" guys) it wont be too embarrassing (fingers crossed anyways) :D :D

You need guys like Bries to be there with the young guns coming through. Only time will tell. Whipping boys for sure, but I hope the Welsh RL side will put a good case for Welsh RL when they play in the tourney.
