Scotland winger Sean Lamont has been linked with a move from Northampton Saints to the Scarlets next season.

A possible move to French club Brive broke down, and a Scarlets source confirmed to BBC Sport Wales that initial talks have taken place.

Perth-born Lamont joined the Saints from Glasgow in 2005 and has scored 23 tries in 68 appearances for the club.

Scotland winger Sean Lamont has signed a three year deal to join the Scarlets from Northampton Saints.

The 28-year-old spent four years with the Saints scoring 23 tries in 68 appearances.

But Perth-born Lamont has spent much of the last two years on the injury list, most notably a serious knee injury.

Good signing but I feel disappointed that the Scarlets are not going to develop some of their younger wingers, in particular Ifan Evans.

Was there a rumour on the Scarlet Fever forum that they were optimistic of signing D'Arcy? :)

He's been in good form of recent weeks, should he see some ball he may well get back to hios form of 3-4 years ago. Good signing for them.

saw that over on leinsterfans.com as well but given his contract is up next year it's probably just someone putting the feelers out for extra cash during any negotiations.

He's completed the move now, hopefully he will get a kick up the arse and start playing like he used to.
