He's done it, with 1 race to spare Jenson finished 5th and that was enough, especially with Rubens Barrichello finished 7th, for him to become the 2009 world champ.

What a start to the season winning 6 out of the first 7 races, had a mid season blip but has picked himself up and did enough today to win the championship.

Oh and Mark Webber won the race but no-one seems to care about that (apart from Webber and Red Bull)

Silly sport where only a driver from 2 or 3 teams ever has a chance of winning. The ultimate 'Money Wins' sport.

A1 Grand Prix is where it's at.

However: Well done to Jensen Button.

Don't think that is completely true. This year has been so different. Force India, Red Bull, Brawn doing really well, but Ferrari not doing so well.

Used to be a fan of F1.

Think its going to die if it doesnt change soon enough.

A fairly clear winner and then the third placed team on half the points of the winner. Nothing particularly close about that.

What a crash though:

Of course if you'd actually watched the whole season you would know that from weekend to weekend no team was constantly the fastest. We had Mclaren coming from the back to dominating the latter of the season, Force India coming from dead last in Australia to being among the fastest cars in Spa and Monza. The only team that didnt get on the podium was Torro Rosso. This constitutes about the most competitive season in F1 history.
