The battle has begun like we all knew it would. Racing Metro is the first club to come out and say that there are to be implications against Argentine players now that they will be unavaliable during The Rugby Championship matches which will mean those players selected will be unavaliable for the first seven weeks of the Top 14 Orange and then after returning following the final match (vs Australia) on October 06 the Pumas players will then miss all of November. Racing have four Pumas - three are certanties for the tournament and the other a possibility. Juan MartÃn Hernández, Juan Imhoff and Alvaro Galindo will make the cut with Juan Orlandi a maybe. The club is likely to not have them full time until december. Racing´s President Jacky Lorenzetti said (in French) "I am not going to pay for players that play part time and I don´t know if the Argentines will continue playing in France" I am not surprized about this but one thing missing is South Africans with Frans Steyn also playing for Racing Metro and also likely to be missing for duty as may players from other sides such as Gerhard Mostert (Stade Français), Gurthro Steenkamp (Toulouse) Ricky Januarie (Lyon) and Bakkies Botha (Toulon) Not to mention Muller and Pieenar from Ulster and Smit of Saracens. In any event, Montpellier and Pumas fullback, Lucas González Amorosino, said last week that he doubts most Pumas will be playing in France in the future. He thinks players will prefer to stay below the equator to play Super Rugby. The UAR also said last year that it is to centrally contract the senior players. Anyhow below are the articles..... In French: http://www.rugbyrama.fr/rugby/test-match/2011/le-casse-tete-argentin_sto3036232/story.shtml In Spanish: http://www.canchallena.com/1425425-conflicto-en-puerta-el-presidente-de-racing-metro-y-una-postura-negativa-para-ceder-a-los-pumas
