I understand that times are tough for governments the world over but to hear about cutbacks for children with learning disabilities is absolutely appalling.
It's obvious that the teachers don't elect Fianna Fáil. It's bad enough upping the student teacher ratio but to blatantly discriminate against children with a learning difficulties is inexcusable.
There should be cutbacks in the Civil Service or Farmer's subsidies not this nonsense. As far as I'm concerned this will save the government an absolute pittance and only do long terms damage. To expect children in need of learning support to have to go back into the mainstream is crazy even moreso with the increse in student teacher ratio.
