Hey guys,

My name is Diego, 23, and I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I'm looking forward to discuss and learn a lot about the game of rugby. Mainly learn, I must say, because in all honesty I'm only a newbie when it comes to rugby. It's always been all about football for me, as a good Brazilian, plus a little bit of basketball, which is also big here, or hockey, thanks to a Canadian friend. Only in recent years I've come to watch the NFL, and although I found it very entertaining, the game that really caught my eye was Rugby, when I had the chance to watch some of the Six Nations matches (Ireland vs France, in particular!).

The game is also growing really fast in my country. Years ago I knew nobody who could even describe the rules of the game; nowadays, I have at least 3 friends who not only know a lot about it, but also play it in a regular basis. Obviously it's still almost nothing compared to the most popular sports, but it's something, at least.

I'm very passionate about sports and love reading about nearly all of them, even some I don't enjoy watching (such as cricket or golf), but the culture of sports is something that really pleases me and that's why I'm always searching for forums where I can learn more about them and share views or experiences. I hope I'll be able to do a lot of both here!

By the way, most Six Nations games are only shown in ESPN HD here (not in the ‘regular’ ESPN), and I don't have this channel so I can't watch all the games I'd like to, only a few. Is there any website where I could find those rugby games for download? I know where I can get football or hockey matches, but couldn't find anything similar for rugby. Thanks in advance for any possible help and please forgive me if it's not allowed to ask for such things here.

Well, that's it. I must say my favorite International team so far is Ireland (but it can change :p). And I still have to pick a club!

Welcome to the forum! :D
Always good to hear about rugby growing in different countries,
I imagine it'll take off even more in Brazil in the run up to the 2016 Olympics, with 7s being involved and all

Check your PMs, too :)

Thanks mate.
And yeah, the Olympics are going to bring to attention many sports we Brazilians have nearly ignored for too long, and it's a great thing IMO.

Can't wait for this year's rugby World Cup, gonna be the first I watch.

This is growing more and more into an international community. Welcome Diego!
