Well done to Ulster, it's not many teams who can turn Leicester over at WR in the HC. I was really looking forward to this as Leicester had a few of their injured stars coming back. The game showed that Tigers need some time to gel again. They were scrappy and just didn't have the cohesion in the backline that we enjoyed watching towards the end of last season, when they were pretty much unplayable. Ulster have on hell of an impressive rush defense and Leicester just had no answer to it. Tigers should have spotted this and altered their game and put more chips/grubbers though. The players obviously didn't see that a tactical change was needed, but I'm really disappointed that the coaches in the stands didn't spot this and get the message down onto the pitch. The one time Flood tried the grubber - we scored! Losing Tait and Crane early doors didn't help either. Tait is much more of a threat than Hamilton and Crane has been great for us this season. Well done to Ulster, an impressive performance from them, but I'm actually not too down about this defeat - it was only by a solitary missed penalty after all. Players like Allen, Slater, Mafi and Tait have not long come back from injury. With some more time to get more cohesion and then Tuilagi and Parling to returning as well, Leicester Tigers will be a very different proposition in two months' time. You can get odds of 4/1 on Tigers winning the AP this season. If I were the gambling kind (which, thank the Lord I'm not, sir), I'd definitely have a flutter.
