Cannot see the Blues doing much against MHL in this one?

They are at home against a Montpellier reserve team with not one first choice starter. Would be embarrassing for the Cardiff Blues to lose.

So because Francois Trinh-Duc and Fulgence Ouedraogo are not playing this is a 2nd string !!!
Tell that to Watramez, Creevy, Hanke, Gorgodze (you would run a mile) Paillaugue, Combezou,Nagusa Hape Fernadez Leleimalafaga if this is 2nd string i would love to see the 1st team choices, do your homework!!! Because we are a senior member this does not give freedom of press to write anything!!!!!

Figallo, Jgenti, Privat, Ouedraogo, Tulou, Tomas, Trinh-Duc, Bustos Moyano, Nagusa, Hape, Amorosino all are not starting. That's 11 players from the Montpellier first choice starting line up not playing, which means that it is obviously nowhere near full strength. Do your own homework on what the Montpellier first choice starting XV is.

Anyway of those you named some of them aren't starting and are merely on the bench, and Creevy, Fernandez and Gorgodze are all only playing as their form has dipped of late and they need some game time to get back to their best.

Let the match speak for itself..................I do think that they will have more than enough on the field and on the bench for the Blues but we shall see!!

Cardiff Blues: Jason Tovey, Alex Cuthbert , Gavin Evans, Dafydd Hewitt, Harry Robinson, Rhys Patchell, Lloyd Williams; Andries Pretorius (c), Sam Warburton, Josh Navidi, James Down, Lou Reed, Scott Andrews, Marc Breeze, Sam Hobbs
Replacements: Rhys Wiliams, Tafa'ao Filise, Benoit Bourrust, Macauley Cook, Robin Copeland, Lewis Jones, Ceri Sweeney, Owen Williams

Considering the amount of players that the Blues don't have available its still a decent side. Think the Blues will give Montpellier a game.

Firstly Figallo is suspended, Jgenti Privat Tulou Bustos Moyanoare all injured Nagusa and Hape are in the squad which left this afternoon, in France we play 23 and not necessarily whose who start are always first choices, and how you can say Creevy of Fernadez are not on form, when they were away with the Pumas so difficult to play for thier club and to say both of these plus Gorgodze's form has dipped you obviously dont watch Montpellier, i am a club official and watch every single match so i do my home work and do not write untruths or woffle..Is this a site- forum where we critise or write anything especially when we do not have sources??? if so a waste of time.....

Just in case you need more info Trinh-Duc and Ouedraogo are both on holiday till Monday so quite normal they are not playing

Amoroosino was not mentioned as it was largley publisized on the net and in many sports papers this week that he broke his nose in the last minutes of the game against Bayonne, so he will be out for a couple of weeks, thats more or less shown why Montpellier have selected this team to play against Cardiff Blues, not because its 2nd string but becauce all the players mentioned by Pyschic duck are either injured or suspended i hope this stops any confusion in the Montpellier's team selection.

Lloyd Williams red carded for a dangerous tackle. Bit harsh, yellow certainly but think a Red was wrong. The Montpellier team reaction ie totally OTT made up the refs mind. Otherwise Blues playing decently at the moment.

Difficult one for the ref to see, but ultimately quite harsh. Thought it was a yellow for Lloyd Williams.

Montpellier are always going to win this one though. 'Second string' or not they have a pack and the blues have been lacking dominance up front all season. Any French team have the resources to always have a big pack. Blues will tire.

Good to see Patchell playing well back at 10.

Thought the linesman gave it and they missed a kick on the head just afterward that should be cited.....disappointed in the MHL 10 (Fenandez?) who has kicked off into the same square yard until the last one where he went to the other way, fumbled catches and generally not shown up well in comparison to Patchett who has been MoM so far.

I do agree that MHL will win for the reason you state....is Hape playing?

Edit - Fenrandez has come to life but credit to Cardiff who have never given up and to Patchett who is my Man of the Match.....even on a losing side!!

On an interesting note, with an attendance of 6,014, that was Cardiff's smallest gate of the season. I think it was more like 5000.

Factors could include the current weather, a Sunday game and Wales's poor form. It could also be to do with the ticket banding system Cardiff have incorporated. It puts HC games £2/4 more expensive than others. Especially when there isn't really anything on the game and all of the important Welsh internationals are injured.

I worry whether this Cardiff team will even make the HC next year, although it might be good for this young team to have a season in the Amlin.

In reponse to bluemoon, do Cardiff not include the H Cup games in their season ticket, and if not they should be promoting games like this to get the crowds inside the ground, the attendances in Wales are not great so even more reason to promote the H Cup games where there is very little at stake for the home side...

As far as I know they do include them, or at least 4 or so years ago when I had one they did!
Not surprised the Blues lost this, not playing well at all, majority of their best players out injured (seriously, **** you Andrew Hore...) and the fact that we barely have a pack currently, plus Warburton pulling out just before never helps...

Positive note, Patchell is getting good reviews, seems to have kicked an utter crap load of points! With Priestland having now joined the ridiculous list of injured Welsh players, Patchell is possibly putting his hand up for a place in the squad for the 6 Nations. Would be nice to go back to picking the young on form players, might help turn things around for that game against Ireland. Then again, could be too much throwing him in at the deep end...

Yes, it is included in the season ticket price. However, the season ticket price is around the £230 mark, and over a season does not really offer much of a discount.

I was a student season ticket holder before, but this year there is not a price for a student seat, only a terrace.

The games are £18/20 for league games and £20/22 for HC games if you sit. Or £15/18 or £18/20 if you stand. Altohugh it doesn't look expensive on the face of it, the price has to match the product, which at the moment is not great.

Yeah like it's "quite normal" to give your best two players a holiday before a match where your playing your best team. Also leaving first choice starters on the bench is not playing the best team available either.

And yes Gorgodze's form has dipped, I watched him play for Georgia in November and he was apparently suffering and playing through some sort of illness which was visibly effecting his game as he wasn't his normal self. Good to see he played okay over the weekend though.
