The bigger question is do you watch it in Japanese? Trying to learn that language is killing me. And I've only had one lesson.

Oh you mean subbed? Yes, it is far better to watch it subbed than in some god awful american dub. In most cases fansubs (brand new Japanese Anime that is subtitled by groups of fans for free about a few days after first broadcast in Japan) are the only way to watch Anime anyway, especially with the new stuff like Haruhi, Dennou Coil and Code-E.
