The fact that we can put a side like this during an injury crisis and when so many players are away on international duty is incredible. Would have liked to have seen at least one of Ryan and Fanning rested but I can live with it.

Scanell is a guy I tipped at start of year. A smooth operator who will fancy that 12 shirt. We are effectively going with 3 8s to try and get a lot of forward ball in tight. Good team considering we need to give guys a break.

Poor Aki. Must've thought he was playing grassroots yesterday. I think Connacht will be much improved with 9. Marmion 10. Ronaldson 12. Aki 13. Henshaw after the AIs. Very solid selection that Connacht missed, which was a pity because their forwards did well.

Good to get the bonus point yesterday with some good performances from the younger lads. Still injuries to Te'o and Douglas clearly not good. Douglas looks like he should be ok but he would have been important in this period. Real pity about Te'o he was looking good and I think he brought something or backline needed. Hopefully he uses this to get the systems etc. really well.

All except Henshaw played that way yesterday I thought.

Te'o may benefit as he can learn more about positioning etc. could be best for him as it'll allow him learn systems as you say but also more about Union positioning and all away from pressures of having to perform straight away.

Yeah but Aki was getting no ball from the the combo of Carty/Ronaldson. The only players allowed to play beyond the 8 were them two (kick kick kick). Aki I think did his best to get involved hitting rucks and rushing up closing off the Ospreys attack a number of times. Aki one in with Ronaldson at 10 and Henshaw running off him will make a significant difference I think. I hope for their sake anyway.

24-28 to Munster in the end. Improved Blues performance, but Munster were poor and brought nothing but a kicking game from 10 this evening.

Yep. Blues vast improved, certainly best performance in the Pro 12 this season. The first half indiscipline really bit them on the arse. Vosowai put in a huge effort, impressed me today as I may have previously described him as a moose, tonight more of a moosile.

Yeah he has been a bit of find for Cardiff. Very consistent this season as well in a very inconsistent team. Thought Amorosino had an excellent start as well. Not just for the try, he looked very sharp for most of the first half.

I feel my last post may have sounded a bit harsh on Munster. What I meant was is that they weren't really out of second gear for long periods of the game and that they just had a fantastic day from the tee. I thought they were a little green going to the corner at times in that las quarter, but it paid off in the end.

We didn't bring much. Agree Cardiff can feel a little disheartened BUT we were a team who had awful week with guys away at camp and little ****les. But Cardiff's awful discipline was what kept us in it. We kicked all points given but ref let them away with few (as he did us). Ye could've had pen try for scrum but fact it was never going to be given when he couldn't identify problem. Also Cardiff try did seem forward on replays.
All in all very happy to leave with win. Would've loved to see Adam Jones have slotted that DG though.

Long enough for points here. Ulster happy to play some mad stuff in the wind and the rain.
