Goodbye Eric Bechu

With great sadness i have to announce the passing away of Montpellier's coach Eric Bechu this Tuesday, after a long battle with his illness Eric finally had nothing left to give.
Our deepest condolences to his wife Isabelle and his daughters Manon and Lily-Marie.
The rugby world has lost a family man, a friend, and a great coach.

RIP

A very well respected coach. Spent a long time with little Albi between 1999-2010 and helped them overachieve in the Top 14, and then moved to Montpellier in 2010 and helped them get to a Top 14 final in 2011. Very sad news, only 53 years old.

I hope there will be a nice tribute to him before the Montpellier Toulon match next Saturday.

RIP Eric.......no doubt Montpellier will make the appropriate tribute and, for me, a minute of applause to say thanks for all he did for the club and French rugby and to express wonderment at his courage would be more appropriate than the usual miinute silence.....but that is a personal opinion and whatever they do I will be with them in spirit.

He will be a big loss but at the same time this untimelly passing must act as a huge incentive to the MHL club and a championship would be a fitting tribute......
