[h=3]Genaro Fessia joins London Wasps[/h]

English Premiership Rugby club, London Wasps has confirmed the arrival of three backrowers for the news season with Matt Everard, James Harris and Argentine international Genaro Fessia all joining the club. Fessia´s arrival is bitter-sweet as while he has picked up a professionla contract for an elite side he has been left out of Argentina´s squad for Rugby World Cup 2011, which starts in seven days time. Fessia´s contract has been officially classified as being a trial period with a fulltime contract being on the cards. He has been rushed into the teams first XV as Fessia has been named to start in London Wasps´s match vs Italian side Benetton Treviso in Henley. Both Everard and Harris have been included on the bench for the pre-season warm-up fixture.

Genaro Fessia´s arrival marks his second stint playing in England after he spent a year with the Sale Sharks in 2007 when the club also had the Fernández Lobbe brothers in its playing roster. Fessia is joining the Wasps from Argentine club Córdoba Athletic from the country´s second largest city, Córdoba. He has been a semi-professional player as part of the PladAR system in Argentina over the past two years and was a member of the Vodacom Cup championship side, Los Pampas XV. The 30 year old has been capped ine times for Los Pumas and was a surprize exclusion from the squad for New Zealand 2011 after having been a regular player in 2009 and 2010 for the South Americans. Fessia made his test debut vs Ireland in 2007 in a tight 22-20 victory in Santa Fé. His other eight internationals have been games against England, France Italy, Scotland and Uruguay.
