How good would it be to see a team from Samoa, Tonga or even the Cook Islands in the competition? some might say they might be better suited in Super Rugby but the Mitre 10 cup in itself is a strong competition and one that could develop local players better and add further Polynesian influence to the competition. Thoughts on if this is achievable or not?

In the NPC? Basically no, not unless you want to throw several of the current provinces under the bus i.e. split the whole championship division off as a separate 2nd tier league. and probably scrap the mid week fixtures. It would never fly.

There are other options though. Fiji Already has a team in Australia's domestic comp, (NRC with the Western Force), and there's room for more teams there if Samoa or Tonga can get the money together. There's also World Series Rugby if anything actually comes of it - it might end up having NZ teams and basically be the 2nd division of Super Rugby.
