Exeter Chiefs have made their fourth signing ahead of next season by snapping up Samoa international centre Josh Tatupu.

The 24-year-old will leave French Top 14 side Castres at the end of the current campaign for a two-year spell at Sandy Park.

Tatupu said: "I'm really excited about this move and cannot wait to get over to Exeter.

"I've been over and had a good look at the set-up, which is great."

Tatupu, who started his career playing for Australian Rugby League side Melbourne Storm, has also played for Western Force in the Super 14 and Otago in New Zealand's domestic National Provincial Championship.

He will join fellow newcomers prop Craig Mitchell, fly-half Myles Dorrian and scrum-half Kevin Barrett at the Devon outfit next term.

"I'll be honest I didn't know too much about Exeter before the move, but I know they've had a great season this year and that they are looking to build on that for next season," Tatupu added.

Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter said: "Josh has got a lot of assets that modern backs need.

"He's strong, very quick and has an interesting background having played both rugby league and union.

"He can play centre or on the wing, so he kind of fits very nicely in what we have here."
