True, although there are clear Prem heartlands.


4 clubs within a couple of hours in the South West and a couple each in London and the East Midlands. Worcester, Irish and Wasps were also in those areas - whether they were victims of straight mismanagement or whether overcrowding played a part, who knows?


The 2 clubs with the worst attendances are the geographical outliers of Sale and Falcons, both of which are in football mad areas.


Trying to a spread the game where it hasn't got a traditional foothold is nigh on impossible. Even where there is - Cornwall, Leeds etc, it's proven incredibly difficult. A full time professional club is expensive.


Glad to see Worcester back in the Championship, but a condition of that was retaining and paying off debt. Will be v interested to see how they get on, but may be watching from behind the sofa.
